Introduction

The FHIR® ODS Lookup API has been developed by NHS Digital and provides a searchable national repository of NHS Organisation Reference Data. The data returned by the FHIR® interface is managed and published by the ODS (Organisation Data Service) within NHS Digital. The FHIR® ODS Lookup API forms part of the ODS API Suite, further information relating to the ODS API Suite can be found at: NHS Digital website.

The vision is to create a library of nationally defined HL7® FHIR® resources and interaction patterns that implementers can adopt to simplify integration and interoperability within UK health and social care.
